I mainly work in the field of orchestral conducting, where I count collaborations with orchestras from seven countries and concerts in places as diverse as Rio de Janeiro, Saint Petersburg, Chicago, Lisbon, Milan, but also unlikely locations such as Orjais (Covilhã), Maçainhas (Belmonte), Rapoula do Côa (Sabugal), Olivença or a sold out Campo Pequeno with Capitão Fausto.
Consciously and purposefully averse to the specialization within certain repertoires, I exercise everything from baroque to contemporary music, devoting a special attention and sense of commitment to under-represented, emerging or simply fundamental-but-still-non-central authors like Johanna Beyer, Florence Price, Nathan Bales, Robert Paterson or John Luther Adams.
For each particular stage and its audience I seek a unique proposal, obtained through specific programming and reasoning. That's the only way I'm ever happy to say yes to a project.
Author of original music for various formats: Theater, with Moncho Rodríguez; Cinema, with Frederico Serpa; Mixed media, with Francisca Aires Mateus; Opera with Ana Lázaro and Ricardo Neves-Neves (2021). Arrangements of Lully, António Fragoso, Florence Price, Nino Rota, Capitão Fausto, among others.
